Life Changes Women’s Support Group

A much needed support group for women over 18 has got off to a flying start in 2019 in  North Halifax, and the numbers coming along continue to grow each week.

“I just want to say what a lovely time I have every week at Women’s Support Group and thank you to all the lovely ladies I’ve met. It’s a chance for some ‘me time’”  Group participant

Life Changes Women’s Support are a group of certified therapists, counsellors and holistic practitioners who have come together to support women in a safe group environment. Not just for mental health, they provide activities to promote emotional and physical health too including Reiki, meditation, befriending, art therapy and reflexology. Or simply enjoy a chat with other women over a cup of tea and homemade cakes.

All the volunteers are either qualified or retired therapists, holistic practitioners, counsellors or teachers. Or women who have experience of specialised issues so they can bring their knowledge to the group.

The ethos is simple; helping each other with our wellbeing.

The service is free and available for as little or as long as you need and runs every Wednesday, 6.30pm -9pm at St. George’s House, Lilac Street, Lee Mount, HX3 5BT.

Donations are gratefully received and profits are used to support the running of this invaluable service. A Pamper Evening on 6th March raised £61 for the group it was an amazing night for all involved.

The group have also caught the attention of local businesses and is now being sponsored by Classroom Secrets. The Co-op in Hipperholme donated teabags and biscuits for the first session.

Future plans include therapy sessions for issues such as anxiety, stress, mild depression, pain management and trauma.
