Memory Lane Cafe Is Back in Business!
On Saturday 26th September, Memory Lane ran their first café in Sowerby Bridge since March – 22 members came along to enjoy the afternoon. The Halifax café reopens in October. Memory Lane Cafe provides a dementia-friendly environment for people affected by dementia, other memory problems and isolation.

Getting flu and coronavirus at the same time could be devastating to your immune system. Catching either coronavirus or flu, weakens your immune system putting you at higher risk to then catching the other virus. Have you had your flu virus vaccine?

Young Advisors Transitions Survey – Closing date: 19th October
Calderdale Young Advisors are interested in hearing about the experience of young people transitioning between education settings, from primary school to high school, and high school to college/sixth form.

Brighouse Charity Gala Online AGM – 12th October
Although there hasn’t been a Gala this year, Brighouse Charity Gala will still be holding their annual general meeting.

West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership – Climate Change Virtual Summit – 19th & 20th October
Over the two days there will be twelve workshops, each one will explore how as health and social care partners we can reduce the effects of climate change and prepare for its impacts.

The Big Calderdale Sleepout 2020 – 10th October
Join Calderdale SmartMove on World Homeless Day to experience just one night of sleeping rough to support the homeless and vulnerable of Calderdale. This year, rather than gathering together to sleep at the Piece Hall, they want as many people as possible to get involved and sleep out at home.


Nesta’s New Prize Supports the Vulnerable to Access Post-COVID Jobs and Finance – Deadline: 26th October
UK organisations are invited to apply for support to accelerate innovations that can help vulnerable workers, hit hardest by the coronavirus crisis, to secure jobs and financial help.

The Ann Rylands Small Donations Programme
The Ann Rylands Small Donations programme makes grants of up to £1,500 to support smaller charities across the UK providing support for older people, people with disabilities or others facing difficulties in their lives.

VCSE Health and Wellbeing Fund – Starting Well – Deadline: 30th October
Funding will be given to existing schemes working with children from preconception to two and a half years old, who want to expand or develop their schemes by delivering new outcomes or to specific communities.


Apprenticeship and Training Delivery Manager – Closing date: 14th October
You will be responsible for the development, operational management and successful delivery of all apprenticeship and work-based programmes delivered by the Halifax Opportunities Trust work-based learning arm.

Staying Well Worker – Closing date: 16th October
Halifax Opportunities Trust is seeking to appoint a Staying Well Worker to join the ‘Park Ward Staying Well’ project. The successful candidate will help to effectively engage adults experiencing social isolation and/or loneliness in the Park Ward Hub area.

Engagement Coordinator (Health and Care) – Closing date: 19th October
The Engagement Coordinator (Health and Care) will be part of a team that will work closely with NHS Calderdale CCG engagement team to lead on and/or support a wide range of patient and public engagement projects.

Community Covid-19 Champions
