We, at Staying Well, know that mental health is just as important as physical health, and there are things that can be done to help prevent mental ill-health.

Staying Well truly understand the importance of being open and challenging the mental health inequalities faced by our community. In these turbulent times protecting the mental health of ourselves, our families and our communities must be a priority.

One way that Staying Well hope to positively affect the mental health of the community is through our telephone befriending scheme. The telephone befriending scheme was created at a time of great isolation and loneliness and has developed and grown to be a way for people to connect to share their thoughts and feelings and have a good chat. The befriending client and volunteer both benefit from the relationship; “I feel befriending is one of the most enjoyable ways you can choose to volunteer your time. Opening up lines of communication between people can make such a huge difference to both people’s lives.”
