Voluntary Sector Integration Coordinator – Closing date 5th October

This post will work as part of the Voluntary Sector Infrastructure Alliance (VSI Alliance) team.  VAC is a partner within the VSI Alliance which provides a range of ‘infrastructure’ services and support to voluntary and community groups across Calderdale.  The VSI Alliance team works closely with voluntary and community organisations to ensure that all groups have equal access to good quality services which in turn help build the capacity of the sector, enabling them to carry out their own objectives effectively.

Calderdale Quality & Engagement Officer –  Closing date 5th October
The role of the Calderdale Quality and Engagement Officer is central to the continued success and development of VAC projects across Calderdale.

Reporting to the VAC Quality and Engagement Lead, you will support the delivery and further roll-out of the Quality 4 Health + Wellbeing accreditation across Calderdale by recruiting and supporting local organisations.

News

The Better Living Service is back!We are here to support people in Calderdale to lose weight and be more active. Our partnership with Slimming World is continuing and 12 weeks of fully funded Slimming World vouchers are available for people who would like support to lose weight.  We have increased this offer to more people than ever – vouchers are now available to most Calderdale adults (18+) with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 25 (Calculate your BMI).  The Better Living Service offers support to people face to face, by phone or via Microsoft Teams to suit each individual’s preferences. Referrals can be made online at www.calderdale.gov.uk/betterliving or by ringing 01422 230230.

Royal Armouries Exhibition Title Consultation
The Violence Reduction Unit are currently consulting on a title for their upcoming exhibition on knife crime taking place at the Royal Armouries.

Police and Crime Plan Consultation Launched
Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire has today officially launched the consultation to inform her first Police and Crime Plan.


Calderdale Speech Language and Communication Pathway – SURVEY

A survey for Parents/Carers and Professionals/other stakeholders across the Borough to help gain an insight into what people currently understand of Speech Language and Communication as well as the services and support available from pre-birth to 25 years.

We would appreciate your help in promoting and sharing these surveys with your colleagues and any families who you work with.

If you are able to share the links to the surveys with others please copy us in so we are able to track how far the survey travels.

The surveys will close on the 17th October.

Funding

COVID Grants for Voluntary Sector
The Council has modified the application process for COVID 19 Additional Restrictions Grants (ARG) and web information to encourage Voluntary and Community Sectors to apply.

Local Leadership and Integration Fund
The Ministry of Justice has announced the opening of the second round of the Local Leadership and Integration Fund. The MoJ is asking local organisations to come together in partnership to submit proposals for new and innovative approaches which will improve outcomes for prison leavers in their local area.

The competition will be open for applications for six weeks until Monday 18 October. Successful pilots will run for a period of 16 months, and the maximum amount of grant funding available for a single bid will be capped at £1 million.

Grants of up to £2,500 available to combat crime working with young people
Are you running a groups in Calderdale, and your projects aims to prevent and combat crime by working with 5 – 25 year olds? Grants of up to £2,500 are available from The High Sheriff of West Yorkshire’s Fund. Deadline for applications is 4th October 2021

The CFFC General Grants
The CFFC General Grants round is now open for applications by following this link to our website, where you will find all guidance and a link to the application form.

There will be four rounds of the fund over the next 12 months, the maximum grant is £5k.

Racial Equity Fund – Lloyds Foundation
We support charities with an annual income of between £25,000 and £1 million with a strong track record of helping people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities overcome complex social issues. We offer a two-year unrestricted grant of £50,000 alongside development support to help your charity navigate change.  Under our Racial Equity funding strand, we support charities where more than half of their Trustee Board self-identify as belonging to a Black, Asian or minority ethnic community.

Community Housing Fund Revenue Programme 2021/22
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has made £4 million available through the Community Housing Fund Revenue Programme 2021/22 to award grants to eligible community organisations in England (outside of the Greater London Authority area).

Lloyds Bank Foundation
If you are a small and medium-sized charity with an income between £25,000 and £1 million you can apply for two-year, unrestricted funding of £50,000 alongside dedicated development support. 

Santander Foundation Financial & Digital Empowerment Fund
“We’ve developed the  Santander Foundation Financial & Digital Empowerment Fund to help more people in the UK become digitally and financially empowered.
We want to support UK charities to give people the digital confidence, knowledge, and skills to enable then to make better, more informed decisions about money and have access to financial services. Together we can make a positive impact in our communities.”

BBC Children in Need COVID-19 Funding Streams – 23rd August 2021
Grants of over £10,000 per project are available to not for profit organisations and special schools that work with young people who are experiencing disadvantage through illness, distress, abuse or neglect; any kind of disability; behavioural or psychological difficulties; and / or living in poverty or situations of deprivation. Special schools can also apply for funding but the project must be additional to their statutory duties. The funding is being made available through the BBC Children in Need Main Grants programme. Prior to applying organisations and schools will need to register with BBC Children in Need. The next closing date for applications is 11.30 am on the 23rd August 2021.
