Thinking about quitting smoking? You don’t have to do it alone.

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health, but it can also be one of the hardest habits to break. The good news is that you don’t have to tackle it on your own.

Yorkshire Smokefree (YSF) is a free NHS service that provides expert, non-judgmental support to help people stop smoking in a way that works for them. Whether you’re ready to quit now or have tried to stop before, their friendly advisors can help you build a personalised quit plan and support you every step of the way.

Support is available face-to-face, over the phone, or by video call with access to stop smoking treatments to help manage cravings. (Nicotine Replacement Therapy and vapes are free, prescription prices apply to tablet-based medications).

Our Staying Well team regularly refers people to Yorkshire Smokefree because we’ve seen first-hand the difference the service can make.

“We love referring Staying Well clients who wish to stop smoking to YSF. We know each person will be well looked after and supported. We also find they save a fortune, not only because most nicotine replacement therapy products are free for YSF referrals, but also not needing to buy cigarettes any longer.”
Nicola Webster, Staying Well Manager

Giving up smoking doesn’t just benefit your lungs. Many people notice improvements in their breathing, energy levels, taste and smell, while reducing their risk of serious illnesses such as heart disease, stroke and cancer. It’s also a great way to save money, with the cost of cigarettes quickly adding up over time. With the right support, you’re much more likely to quit successfully than by trying to go it alone.

If you’d like to find out more or refer yourself, visit the Yorkshire Smokefree website to explore the support available and arrange a call with an advisor on at Yorkshire Smokefree Calderdale.
